2009 DRIVE-IN MOVIE SERIES

 

The Parks and Recreation Department, along with the New Fairfield Community Foundation, will be showing 4 different family-oriented movies at Squantz Pond this summer and admission is free.  Bring your family and friends, along with blankets and chairs if you don’t want to sit in your car.  The movie will start at dusk with an arrival time at 6:30 p.m.  There will be food and drink concession stands and family entertainment will be available prior to the movie. * In case of inclement weather, please call Parks & Rec. at 312-5633 for further details.

 

 

Date: Friday, June 26 – Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

Plot:  This sequel brings back lovable New York Zoo Animals, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo.  Still stranded in Madagascar, they manage to leave the island only to land in the wilderness of Africa.  There, Alex meets the rest of his family but has trouble communicating after his time at the Central Park Zoo in this hilarious animated adventure.

 

Date: Friday, July 24 – Hotel For Dogs

Plot:  Based on Lois Duncan’s novel, the story revolves around two orphaned teenagers who decide to turn an abandoned building into a safe haven for stray dogs.

 

Date: Friday, August 14 - Bolt

Plot: This animated feature by Walt Disney studios showcases the voices of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus.  Bolt is a spoiled German Shepherd who is the star of his own action TV show and is living the good life.  One day he is accidentally abandoned in his trailer but he truly believes he still has the superpowers from his show.  Along the way, he meets some friends who are trying to find their homes and they help him discover his true self.

 

Date: Friday, August 28 – High School Musical 3: Senior Year

Plot: As seniors in high school, Troy and Gabriella struggle with the idea of being separated from one another as they head off to college.  To send them off properly, they, along with the rest of the Wildcats, stage a spring musical to address their experiences, hopes and fears about their future.
