                                                                                 Special Town Meeting

The Special Town Meeting was called to order by First Selectman John Hodge at 7:04 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance was recited, the call of the meeting was read by Janice Zackeo, Town Clerk. Michael Gill made a motion to accept the call as read, seconded by Robert Jano. Call passed by voice vote.

First Selectman John Hodge called for nominations for moderator. Donald Blackwell made a motion to nominate John Hodge. Mr. Hodge declined the nomination. Jean Flynn made a motion to nominate Michael Gill, seconded by Susan Guerriero. Michelle DeLuise made a motion to close nominations, seconded by Edward McCue, approved by voice vote. Michael Gill was approved as moderator.

Moderator Gill read Resolution #1:
Be It Resolved that the proposed resolution to accept financial assistance and to authorize the First Selectman to sign for the Project in the form of a STEAP Grant in the amount not to exceed two hundred and fifty thousand ($250,000) for Radio Communications System Upgrades and for the expenditure thereof be approved.

Peter Benzinger made a motion to move Resolution #1 to the floor, seconded by Donald Blackwell, approved by voice vote with one abstention. Moderator Gill opened Resolution #1 for discussion. Being there was no discussion, John Hodge made a motion to close discussion and call the question, seconded by Edward McCue, approved with one abstention. After a voice and hand vote, Moderator Gill declared Resolution #1 approved with one abstention.

Donald Blackwell made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Edward McCue, approved by voice vote. Meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
