The Tax Collector’s Office works to promote the financial stability of the Town of New Fairfield by insuring the prompt collection of Real Estate, Motor Vehicle and Personal Property Taxes. In addition, the Tax Collector’s Office applies all state statutes and local ordinances equally, without discrimination or prejudice.

ATTENTION!

The Tax Office will close on Wednesday, March 25th at 1:45 p.m. and remain closed Thursday, March 26th and Friday, March 27th for our annual continuing education seminar. Please note payments can be postmarked and mailed, made online, or put in the drop box behind Town Hall in our absence. Our office will re-open on Monday, March 30th at 8:30 a.m. If you need clearance for motor vehicle registration you must pay online before midnight on Tuesday, March 24th or in the office on Wednesday, March 25th before 1 p.m. All payments made online on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be posted the following Monday and clear with DMV on Tuesday, March 31st.
